2015 : THE YEAR I DESIGN MY FITNESS
Here’s the plan : I’d love to get more fit. Like the fittest my body is safely capable of. I don’t even know what that fully means but I’m curious and motivated to find out. What does my body feel and look like at its very best?
I currently work as a mobile app designer and spend a giant block of my days sitting behind a computer screen. Not ideal for a healthy body but I make special efforts to work it out. Ever since my early days in design school, it confused me why other designers (*stereotype alert*) seemed to care very little about the shape of their body. In my mind, our body is a “blank canvas” for us to shape and care for. Perhaps the best project you will ever work on is Continue reading
Something magic happened over the weekend. As an early Christmas present I took Kirk Ouimet out for his first time ever on some jet skis. As I was leaving the house I grabbed the GoPro “just in case something crazy happens”..
A day blessed with perfect weather became a Continue reading
September 16, 2014 was graced with the birth of our first son, Manilla Morgan Gee.
Leading up to his birth, there was a lot of predictions (and a little bit of betting) as to whether he would be brown like me, or more fair like his mother. But, when the special day came, our only hope was for Continue reading
I’m writing this for myself. Or at least people who think like me. This is for people who want to be the very best version of themselves. Those willing to step outside their comfort zone and try something new. People who understand there is happiness in knowledge and joy in progression. I’m writing this for people who want to be healthier.
Currently (Aug 2014) I am 25 ish years old, my wife Jessica, our daughter Dorothy Seven, and I live in Provo, Utah where I play soccer for Brigham Young University and run my own Continue reading
Lately (and by lately I mean since 2348 BC) there has been a lot of negative criticism directed towards different religions and churches, including my own faith, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon). This is nothing of the sort. The Family Fund is just my simple “in the shower” optimistic idea to solve a problem I’ve been Continue reading
Today is a very proud day for me. BYU Soccer has began using Scan to sell tickets and season passes. It makes me so happy to see 2 things that I’ve worked so hard on, come together in a beautiful way. Here’s the link if you’d like to Continue reading
The day before Scan appeared on the TV show, Shark Tank, I had the fun opportunity to be on the local news together with my co-founders Ben Turley and Kirk Ouimet.
I thought it would be fun to wear my Google Glass and share the experience from our perspective. In this video, the top half is what viewers saw on their TV and the bottom half is everything from my perspective through Google Glass.
The whole experience was a lot of fun. Some of my most memorable times have come from Continue reading
On Friday October 11th, 2013, I am going to be on the popular ABC TV show, Shark Tank. I will be pitching my company, Scan, to the sharks.
Honestly, I’ve never been so nervous in my life. I’d much rather go back to swimming with the sharks of Tahiti. I’ve worked a lot with investors, but the Shark Tank is no ordinary Continue reading
Once a Hater, Now a Lover
As a college dropout, many people think I hate the education system. But the truth is, I respect the education system for the beast that it is. Actually, I’ll go ahead and just say it. I love the education system.
I used to talk poorly of the education system for its many flaws, especially for the way it Continue reading
When I was 13 years old, I was fortunate enough to watch Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls take on the Seattle Supersonics from a court-side seat. That one game changed my entire perspective of athleticism. Here are 7 of my favorite Continue reading
